  1. *: All of the malaria cases were diagnosed using microscopic examination or the RDT method in sub-provincial CDCs, hospitals and PHCs and were reported to the Jiangsu provincial malaria department through the web-based China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention (CISDCP) within 24 h
  2. **: All of the blood samples in the reported malaria cases were rechecked using both microscopic examination and a PCR-based method in a provincial malaria reference laboratory
