Individual Relative gain ± standard error among participating MDs by specialty sub-groups (n = 1044): The Individual relative gain was calculated using the formula; Average actual gain (post-score minus pre-score)/pre-score. The group with the greatest knowledge gain is marked with a + symbol. This gain was significantly greater than the gain exhibited by all the other specialty groups evaluated (p < 0.05). * Specialties marked with this symbol had a significantly higher relative knowledge gain in comparison to sports medicine (p < 0.05). “Other specialties” include public health, surgery, dermatology, orthopedics, anesthesiology, geriatrics, pathology, and genetics. Internal medicine subspecialties (IM Sub.) include pulmonology, nephrology, gastroenterology, and hematology. The n of each specialty is specified in parenthesis () under corresponding columns
