  1. aMicroalbuminuria was defined as no positive dipstick reading for protein and at least one test with ACR >2.8 mg/mmol for women and >2.0 mg/mmol for men.
  2. bIndividuals with dipstick positive proteinuria (>1 g/L) or those with ACR in the macroalbuminuria of proteinuria range (≥30 mg/mmol) on at least one sample were considered to have proteinuria.
